Tom Reed
Tom Reed is addicted to live art. Growing up in Cleveland, OH, he was dosed regularly with Graffiti, Surrealism, and Modern Sculpture. These influences continue to surface in his body of work. As a live painter, Tom has remained one of Cleveland’s most active artists on the Electronic and Jam/Livetronica scenes. An avid traveller, Reed has been featured at numerous festivals the past few summers, including Hyperion and Rootwire Festivals. Since then the work has definitely evolved into a more inspired and focused style, Tom comments on this: "After hanging out with some of the most prolific artists on the planet at Rootwire 2012 and 2013 I decided I needed to step up my game; or rather, slow down my process. I was too concerned with finishing the work and less focused on the pathway. I have learned a lot of discipline since then, and the work shows it. If I was in kindergarten the last few years, I am in first grade now." It is true that Reed has only been painting since summer 2011, prior to that he expressed himself through graphic design, video art, and photography. In addition to painting Tom has also focused his efforts on installation work and stage design. Look for big things from this bright, young artist in the coming years.
