DOMINICK ANTONELLI
Dominick Antonelli started playing at age 12, after being influenced by his father. He never really enjoyed playing other people's music, always fiddling around creating something of his own. At age 16, he was introduced to alternate tunings and that changed his life. Dominick started to sense a different feeling in the music, a more calm and resonating experience. He experimented with improvisation for a long time, and still does. Pulling pieces together from the countless present moment jams he's found himself in, and creating music from that. Dominick has been traveling a lot over the past eight years and is learning a lot while exploring the depths of himself. A lot of his lyrics are based off of lessons he continues to learn. He says it is half the battle to have these intellectual experiences, and the other half is implementing them into new habits. It feels like a full time job and it feels nice to be able to write about these concepts. Dominick says he starts with a free write, jotting down anything that flows, and then pulls out lines that he likes from that essay to write his songs. Some don't have choruses nor words at all. They're like poems with music added, so listen closely if you so wish to hear Dominick's heart and mind.
