Ken Wylie (IFMGA)

"Adventure Literacy. . .Moving from “Event” to “Experience”
What happens when we have a “Powerful Event” on our lifetime adventure? What do we do?
“Adventure Literacy” is a process of understanding events in order to add value to our lives by gaining understanding which improves self knowledge and enriches our lives.
Ken will speak about his own journey of learning through his life of adventure.
Ken Wylie is an IFMGA mountain guide, educator, author (Buried 2014) and first to ascend many difficult rock and waterfall ice climbs in the Canadian Rockies. He lives on Vancouver Island and operates Mountains For Growth helping his clients draw richness from mountain and life events.
"Adventure Beyond Escape"
The progression from childhood, through adolescence into adulthood and on to elderhood is an intentional one. Any journey requires movement, and trials along the way. The most intrepid adventurers know that the path is physical, emotional and spiritual and holds space for them all. How can we use Adventure to emerge into our truest selves?
Ken Wylie (IFMGA) is currently working as a freelance guide and writer. An internationally certified mountain guide with the International Federation of Mountain Guide Associations, Ken is widely recognized as one of Canada’s leading outdoor professionals who has guided around the world and held faculty positions at Thompson Rivers University and Mount Royal University in their respective outdoor programs.
