"The purpose of my art is to assist in the guidance of our collective meditations.
Everyone’s journey is different, and we all have our own perspectives. Your ‘reality’ is what you decide it is, based on the information you have. But in creating art, there is the power to construct new realities, with infinite interpretations and perspectives. I try not to let my preconceived notions - about art, my style, design, life, whatever - get in the way of my quest to create something fresh and exciting. I enjoy taking on a variety of projects, because I have the drive and mind for problem solving as well as creation and design. The medium does not have to be consistent, my art comes naturally when I follow my motto, 'Keep it weird' and just trust my instincts. My art has a way of being personalized by the viewer. It is engaging, drawing the viewer in to its many layers and intricacies. Using anthropomorphic imagery, which is universally connected to everyone, gives people a common starting point from which they can explore. There is no ‘one way’ to interpret my art because it is purposely left open to interpretation. It's meaning is all of ours to determine for ourselves, just like our own realities. Art can connect with people on a primal level that transcends boundaries. Visit Mike Rzepka's Website |
